Birdwatching in Navarre

Introduction

Despite its size, Navarra has great natural diversity thanks to its geographical location and varied relief. There are three major geoclimatical influences: the Atlantic influence from the north, the Mediterranean influence from the south and the Alpine influence from the Pyrenees from the east.

This means that several biogeographical regions and a wide range of habitats can be distinguished in Navarra with a great variety of characteristics, from lush woodland to dry steppes, passing through high, steep mountains. Such variety is reflected in the numerous bird species which live in Navarra.

Birding Navarra has selected a total of 12 recommended places which together cover almost all the scenic and birdlife diversity of Navarre.
