The photogenic scenery of the Pyrenees can be found in the north of Navarre. To the east, the Pyrenees offer wonderful snapshots, such as the imposing escarpments of the Larra Massif, the vast expanses of the Irati Forest, the depths of the Arbayún Gorge over which vultures soar, or the historic group of buildings at the collegiate church of Roncesvalles.
The chain of mountains slopes gently from east to west and it is then that the camera is pleasantly surprised by immaculate country houses, legendary caves, green meadows and open spaces such as the Bertiz Nature Reserve. At its most westerly point, the Aralar mountain range or the Urbasa-Andía Nature Reserve hide treasures such as the sanctuary of San Miguel in Excelsis, besides offering dizzying backdrops and wonderful views of the peaks of the eastern Pyrenees.
