Kingdom of Navarre. Land of diversity

During the first days of May three touroperators of the most important English bird travel agencies visited Navarre: Mike and Liz Read, from The Travelling Naturalist, and Teresa Farino, from Iberian Wildlife.

The Po Delta Birdwatching Fair (in Comacchio, Italy) took place between April 28th and May 1st. Birding Navarra was present at this event, one of the most important ones of its kind in Europe. We were there to present our birding tourism project, to make new contacts and to study future promotion opportunities.

Recently we have re-edited the Checklist of Birds in Navarre with updated information about new species seen in our territory in the last year. We have also included a new section with information about the ‘detectability’ of each bird species.

While at the 2nd Bird Tourism International Fair in Extremadura, Birding Navarra organized a raffle. The prizes are four birding trips (two-night stay). The winners are: - Jacinto Blázquez Reyes (Torrejón el Rubio, Cáceres). - Andrés Cáceres Terer (Plasencia, Cáceres) - José Luis Alcalde (Dos Hermanas, Sevilla) - María Bellmont (Madrid) Congratulations to the winners.

The II Bird Tourism International Fair took place between March 2nd and 4th in Villarreal de San Carlos (Monfragüe N. P., Cáceres, Extremadura). Birding Navarra was present at this event. We had a stand, made a public presentation about the project and took part in the workshops.

This is the only birding tourism fair that takes place in the Iberian Peninsula.

Birding Navarra was represented at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) in Madrid. We had our own desk at the Navarra stand.

Birding Navarra will have its own space in the stand of Navarre at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid between January 31st and February 4th. We invite you to visit us to know better what Navarre has to offer regarding birdwatching.
