Celebrado ya el maratón con una participación de 30 personas repartidas en 10 equipos llegó el momento de conocer a los ganadores de la presente edición, que fueron el equipo “Los Chivichonchos”, de Soria, con un resultado de 113 especies detectadas.

La empresa inglesa Naturetrek, uno de los líderes mundiales en turismo de naturaleza, ha organizado el primer viaje a Navarra que combina la observación de aves con la visita de bodegas vinícolas. Esta original fórmula ha atraído a 12 turistas ingleses que visitaron la Comunidad Foral desde el 17 al 23 de mayo de 2010.

La empresa francesa Yuhina, una de las más activas en turismo de naturaleza en Francia, visitó Navarra entre los días 10 y 15 de mayo de 2010 invitados por Birding Navarra.

Last Saturday 24 April, the prestigious optical equipment manufacturer, Swarovski, staged a presentation of telescopes and binoculars in collaboration with Observar Aves in Navarra/Birding Navarra at the Pitillas Lagoon.

On Friday 16 April, Roncesvalles hosted a workshop with Scandinavian Tourist Agents which Birding Navarra also attended to present the Birdwatching tourism opportunities of the Region.

The Gorosti Society of Natural Sciences has released information from its census of winter visiting Red Kites in Navarre, which it has carried out since the 1990s. The data produced in this most recent census, corresponding to the winter of 2009/10, show a considerable drop of 18% in relation to the previous year, and almost 40% in relation to the best winter of the campaign in 2005/06. This means that 1,613 birds were recorded in comparison with the average number of 2,263 (33% less).

The 5th International Extremadura Birdwatching Fair (FIO ’10) was held in Villarreal de San Carlos (Monfragüe National Park, Cáceres) from the 26th to the 28th of February of this year. Birding Navarra was once again present at the event with its own stand.

Work has recently been undertaken to build a new viewing point at Muladar de Lumbier (vulture feeding station), one of the observation points recommended by Birding Navarra.
