Valle de Roncal

Municipal information: Population, size...

Patron saint festivities: en honor a Santiago (alrededor del 25 de julio) y en honor a San Cipriano (alrededor del 16 de septiembre).

This noble town stands to the north of the Pyrenean valley of Roncal, at the foot of the Belagua valley, bathed by the waters of the river Esca and surrounded by rugged mountains.

Discover the narrow cobbled streets lined by harmonious mansion houses in stone and wood with their steep gabled roofs that prevent snow from building up on them.

In the town centre, the church-fortress of San Cipriano rises up majestically, dating back to the 16th century. And for an excellent example of the noble coats-of-arms that are a feature of Isaba you should see the one on the Uturrotx fountain where the history of the valley is carved out. Although the best way to get to know the identity and history of the Roncal Valley is to visit the Casa de la Memoria de Isaba (House of the Memory of Isaba).

From Isaba you have easy access to various cross-country ski tracks and numerous hiking trails.
